Hi

I want to avoid additional cables ( eg fibre) coming into the house as previously my Broadband copper supply was set up so it runs under the floor boards and can't be seen .

I would appreciate views on EE wireless router please , Plusnet are suggesting it as I need to switch to an alternative to copper ; how reliable do you think it would be in a 3 storey property please?

I would need to position it on the ground floor where my plusnet router is . my current router has 4 ports which are all being used e.g one of them is used for my Hive Heating cable needs to connect there

Plusnet have said i can purchase a refurbished router but i am concerned about the contract if i am only supplied with an EE sim

Thanks fro your advice

you have a mix of 3 questions there.

1) what is EE 5G like? - what's your signal like? buy a test sim and try it on your phone
2) I've run out of ports on my router - add a cheap 8 port Gb switch, or, your new 5G router might well completely replae your current router
3) Will the wifi reach all 3 floors? A completely different subject really and better off on the mesh thread

Regarding EE 5g, it's reported to be fast. I use Three 5G and its great. EE use CGNAT which may or may not be a problem for you - look that one up.
