Seems like new Samsung's no longer come with 3.5mm ear phone jack. It seems I can use a usb c to 3.5 converter.

Won't be able to charge and listen at the same time I assume but anything else I need to be aware of

(Rather not use Bluetooth)

Thanks

What was the last phone you bought? hehe they've not had 3.5mm jacks for ages!

Anyway I'm sure there will be some enterprising Chinese outfit on Amazon who make a cable with USBC to USB C + 3.5mm.

OR you might find the phone probably has wireless charging so you could do that also (again Chinese, Amazon, Qi wireless charge pad)

As an aside, I get you, I lost my BT headphones and dug out my wired Sennheiser ones. They sound way way better and louder.

I bought an A15 as a backup phone 2 years ago which has a 3.5mm jack. Current Samsung A07, Sony 1 & 10 VII and some Motorola phones still have headphone jacks. So still available.

I've also got the Amazon 2 in one adapter.

Probably costs .000000001p to fit a jacket plug.

Has anyone ever heard someone say "I prefer a phone with jack"?

Assume you forgot a "no" there?

Cost's a bit more than that.

But the challenge is packaging. In the context of phone electronics a 3.5mm jack socket is quite bulky (and you'll need additional circuitry to drive it), so you've either got to compromise elsewhere (smaller speakers?) or make the phone larger - and heavier...

The issue is achieving water resistance around the 3.5mm jack without compromising the design, the costs are much higher than just adding a jack and circuitry.

But I 100% do not need a hole in my phone that I will never use, bluetooth is the solution for this, it has been for the last decade. You can still charge if you do audio over USB-C because you have wireless charging and you can get split adaptors that let you plug your charger in, so no one lost anything anyway.
