So, I installed a eufycam S3 Pro WiFi/solar-powered two-camera system to cover the back garden and the garage/drive area last weekend.

All seemed good for the first few days with solid connections from both cameras. But for the last three days the garage camera hasn’t detected any movements and I can’t get a live feed in the app.

I’ve reset the garage camera but it made no difference. I’m assuming it’s struggling with WiFi given it’s about 30ft from the house and probably 40ft or so to the router. It’s only showing one bar out of four on the wifi signal. The garden camera is fine, but then it’s nearer to the house so the wifi signal is a bit stronger.

I don’t think I can move the router, which is in the understairs cupboard, any nearer as a BT Openreach box next to it on the wall plugs into it. (We’re in a new-build with Cat 6 so I don’t know if that allows me to move the router somewhere better? I’m not that tech-savvy!)

Any suggestions on what I should try first before I consider trying to moving the camera nearer the house, which isn’t easy given where it needs to be to cover the driveway. Thanks in advance

Better antennas/wired access point closer to where you need it/mains powered wifi repeater?

Few options available for not a lot of outlay.

Thanks JoshSm.

Turns out all I needed to do was move the router upstairs to my office, which is nearer to the cameras, and connect it to the Cat5/6 wall jack. Both cameras working fine now with the stronger WiFi signal

Being a Yorkshireman I like a solution that costs nowt! 😁
