I've got these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-WF-1000XM3-Cancellin...

One of them barely lasts my journey to work before dying.....as I right in assuming once the battery is on the way out, they're basically ready for the bin?

Looks like they have a 2 year warranty, outside of that?

XM6s are about £250 I think - bought some for my eldest for his birthday...had been wanting some for a while...and they were too big for his ears!

He ended up with CMF Nothing Buds 2. They're about £40 and he loves them...you can tell the Sonys are a better product. Whether they're £200 better is questionable. (I prefer wired anyway and have some Shure Aonic 3s smile).

I had (still have) XM4's which are great, but a bit chunky to wear for me.

When I looked to get new ones I decided to have a bit of a change as the xm6 weren't out. So I went Technics AZ100's, they're fantastic, better than the xm4's.

I haven't tried the XM6, but I know they would have fitted my 'smaller' requirement. They do get great reviews, but imo, if you got the Sony, Bose or Technics earbuds, then you'll still see/ feel/ hear a pretty big improvement over the xm3's

They can have new batteries put in them. There are people selling kits with everything you need to undertake the replacement yourself for little money (compared to replacement headphones) or they can be repaired by a shop.

I did the batteries in my XM4 versions, which suffer from the issue of short battery life, in about an hour. Plenty of videos out there to show you how to do it.

Thanks all, sounds like new batteries could be an option.....or lazy option and chance to buy new kit!

I did mine and provided you are patient, and can watch a YouTube tutorial, it's not hard at all.

I repplaced the batteries in mine too. It wasn't hard and they're still going strong.
