Is it worth upgrading a 2nd generation Echo Plus?

I’ve got a second generation Amazon echo plus from 2018. It still works fine apart from the fact it seems slower in responding to questions or doing smart Home features like turning on lights. Nothing major but there’s definitely a lag.

On some forums I’ve seen people saying that it’s not worth upgrading because the issues are more to do with the lack of development of the software than anything else. Is this the case?

Be interested to hear any real life experiences.
