My Samsung S22 is getting pretty old, but most phones seem to have been getting bigger and bigger over the years.
Other than the S26 and the Pixel 10 is there anything else worth considering at a similar size? I'd prefer 2 physical SIM cards which rules the Pixel out unless I switch one to an e-sim.

Bizarrely the S26 doesn't seem to be that much more than the S25, you'd think you'd save a decent amount on the previous model.
I'm not overly keen on a folding screen like the newer Razr or the Samsung Z-folds. I tend to drop my phone a lot and want one I can put a case that will bounce

Is a great site that lets you search by phone size. If you put in dual sim, Android, released 2024 onwards and less than 150mm tall you get the Galaxy S25 and S26 (plus a bunch of brands you won't have heard of).
To get a few more options you need to up the size a bit or (in true PH style!) don't restrict yourself to Android

It's getting harder to find a phone that isn't massive these days.The industry seems to have standardised on the 6.72" screen. I went for a Motorola Edge 60 Neo which was 6.36" and that isn't too big.
switching one of your SIMs to eSIM should be pretty painless but this depends on your telco rather than the phone.

Looks like one of my providers does now offer e-sims which they didn't used to. The alternative is to switch both suppliers and get one as an e-sim...or just go with the S26 as I'm used to Samsung's software and know it can take 2 sims.switching one of your SIMs to eSIM should be pretty painless but this depends on your telco rather than the phone.

After almost the identical post a year ago I went for the Motorola too. It's still bigger than ideal but I have got used to it .switching one of your SIMs to eSIM should be pretty painless but this depends on your telco rather than the phone.
Go on the Motorola website directly and the deals to buy the phone are often very good if you are not worried about the colour.
Wife likes her baby sick colour one that was less than £100 new ! Click on the colours and see the price difference.
I have the S25 Edge, the thinness does make a difference to how big the phone feels, it's a lovely thing to use, battery life is fine for me. If it runs flat when I'm out, you can still get me on my watch and it's easy enough to take a magnetic battery pack with you too. I bought one and rarely use it though. My upgrade path was S20+ - lovely phone, also thin - S23 Ultra - Far too heavy and bulky - S25 Edge - Perfect!
It's not perfect, I would happily go a bit smaller on the screen size, but I have the Tab s11 Ultra for home browsing, so I get why with most people using one device for everything the screens are so big now, if I didn't have the tablet I would want a decent sized phone.

Moto Neo 60 Edge is a small(ish) phone, and a rgeat one too. I have the 50 as a space phone. My main is a Xiaomi T17 Pro which is huge in comparison.
The Moto is thin and light.
Razr is a good call if you have money to burn and don't mind it lasting 12 months. I got through three over the years and gave up. They are built well but just can't handle multiple drops. One landing on the hinge and its toast.

I replaced my 4 year old Moto G50 which was still working OK but only had 4GB RAM so wasn't as snappy as i like for a Edge 60 NEO with 12GB RAM, Motorola had them on offer but only in red or duck egg blue, Went for the red which i actually really like and they threw in a Moto watch fit FOC! (£85) Came to £199 with free shipping and delivered within 2 days, It's a great phone with a really nice P OLED screen and a decent camera and battery.

as a family we have switched over to Motorola completely after my great experience with am Edge 50 Neo - which replaced an Asus Zenfone 8 a year ago.
My daughter has the same - she broke 2 Pixels in 2 years (7a & 8a) - the 7a battery became rather large after she dropped it, with the replacement 8a she managed to get a crack all the way up the screen. She really likes the 50 Neo - and thinks the camera is a match for the Pixel.
My son now has an Edge 60 Neo - which should last his next 3-4 years at university - replacing a Sony Xperia 10 VI
My wife now has an Edge 60 Fusion replacing a Sony Xperia 10 V (she was feeling left out in the new phone stakes and her Sony was really slow). She got this version because it has an SD card and she takes a ridiculous amount of videos.
These last two have been bought in the last 2 weeks or so.
I really like the Fusion - great screen. I'm waiting to see if the price drops again and I'll buy a couple. I have another 60 Neo that I'm waiting until they go out of stock before putting up on Ebay.

My last 4 phones have all been Motorola and i've never had problems with any of them, They give me exactly what i need out of a phone at a budget price, The Edge 60 NEO is a brilliant phone for the money if you can still get one on offer.
Same here. They seem to have less bloatware than other brands. I've never had a reliability issue or had a bad battery. I usually buy a midrange model & keep for around 3 years.Current phone is an Edge 40 Neo which I will probably replace sometime in the next 6 months.
Camera is fine & integration with my Gmail account, smart TV, Android Auto & Chromebook is excellent.
