Compact smart phone?
Discussion
My wife and i dont change our phones all that often.
What we've done the last few times (and seemed to work well) is to keep our phones for 4 years, each of us getting a new phone on a 2year stagger.
I have a 2yo galaxy S24 which I'm perfectly happy with and is just fine, i'll switch it over to a SIMO plan and it'll last me another 2yrs hopefully. (I previously had a Pixel4 and wasnt THAT impressed. I found it heavy and a bit cumbersome)
My wife is now due a replacement but everything is now absolutely massive, even bigger than my S24.
Her current phone is an iPhone 13mini. She'd prefer an iPhone but shes also annoyed with the Apple tax so not too precious about it so long as photos and albums can be transferred over without too much hassle.
I dont want to go too mad on budget.
I know whatever, it'll be bigger than the 13mini. Is there anything around thats not massive and/or heavy?

It's tricky to find smaller phones these days isn't it.
GSM Arena is a good resource for this because it lets you filter phones by all sorts of things, including size:

I have a iPhone 13 mini, I hope full updates to be available for at least another couple of years so I’m going to be keeping it as long as possible. I think the only slight annoyance for me is it does not have usb c, it’s got face id, magsafe, 5g and the camera is good enough for what I need, for me I cannot think of any tech I’m missing. I get the impression Apple really tried to make a fully loaded small phone with the 13 mini so even a few years later it has stuff that some of the current lineup doesn’t have.
Doro do some small phones but I think they are more basic. As, when my 13 mini dies I’ll probably look at a iphone air but second hand as the current prices appear to have gone bonkers.

Not smaller, but much lighter - the iPhone Air
It's a great device
Unfortunately no one does small phones any more, they're not wanted, so not produced
But they are getting lighter and thinner
Does that mean it is more fragile? It's a great device

I tend to keep mine in its Otterbox magsafe case; but have a very thin Aramid case for it as well
