LG Smart TV problems (Life's not Good).....
Discussion
Hi All. I am writing to ask for your help. I have a LG Smart TV which has been perfect for several years. However, following a recent automatic SW update, the TV has started to go slow. Menus are slow and sometimes it will refuse to open apps. Netflix and Youtube are very temperamental and sometimes refuse to work at all.
The TV model number is a 43UN81006LB.
I have tried to contact LG, but can only get through to the AI agent, who keeps telling to power off at the wall and wait 10 mins and retry. This made no difference at all. I would buy a new TV, but it seems such a waste, both financially and also e-waste.
I have also tried turning of al the AI features in the TV and also made a complete factory reset. But it still continues to be totally annoying and not - Life's Good at all......
Any help related to this, much appreciated.

Had this with my previous LG trying to open Apps after it got to 4-5yrs old. I think it's a classic case of the TV software losing pace with the App software updates and you reach a point where the TV can't be updated enough to operate them properly. In the end I resorted to watching Netflix etc though the Firestick.
I've a new LG OLED now but as I have Virgin I watch Apps through their OS which I know will always be current and up to date. I still use Firestick for YouTube (or rather Smart Tube to block the adverts).

Turn off all the 'Smart' stuff, block it from the network and get an AppleTV to plug into it instead.
