My daughter has ordered fibre. The property has a newish phone socket on the lounge wall and no other equipment. Plusnet have sent this. Il call them tomorrow maybe.Anyone know what this means.... Your broadband order has completed however initial checks suggest that your Openreach ONT device is currently powered off. When you are ready to use your new service please ensure that both your ONT and your router are plugged in, powered on and have solid green power lights.

ONT is in essence, a new digital master socket. Do you have a white, DIN sized surface mounted wall box with "Openreach" written in it, 3 or 4 LED lights and a couple of cables going to the base of it, somewhere in the house or any evidence of two mounting screws, about 60mm somewhere?

It may be the property has had full fibre fitted previously by way of underground or overhead cable and the previous occupants gave taken said ONT in error... or you've missed it... or their records are wrong and it's never been upgraded as yet

I'd have a look round the house again and also look outside to see if you can see any cables from a pole or popping up from the ground, likely terminating into a small 5 x 5 grey joint box on an external wall maybe? Or just request an engineer visit and they'll figure what you do or don't have.

Perhaps the power supply adapter has been removed from it so worth checking.

There is an open reach box but no equivalent. They are coming next week now (BT) to check things so I'm guessing they will sort out what equipment needs to be added.
