iPad 27.0.1 iOS and External Monitor.
Discussion
I have a setup where I run my iPad Pro 12.9” through a USBC hub to an external monitor when I’m in the office.
I did a software upgrade on the iPad on Friday 23 October 2026 and on entering the office this morning, it will not recognise the monitor through the hub. I have tried all of the usual suspects like connections, different hubs and monitor settings to no avail.
The only variable being the iOS upgrade on Friday PM.
Has anyone had this or a similar issue, and is there a workaround for it?

Turn it on and off again, properly.
Press and quickly release Volume Up
Press and quickly release Volume Down
Press and hold the Top/Power button
Keep holding until the Apple logo appears
Release it
Let it boot completely before reconnecting the hub
Thanks. I’ve tried this a couple of times to no avail. Press and quickly release Volume Up
Press and quickly release Volume Down
Press and hold the Top/Power button

Try USB-C directly to the monitor?
If your office monitor has USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode, bypass the hub completely:
iPad → USB-C cable → Monitor
Direct USB-C works: likely an iPadOS/hub compatibility or HDMI negotiation problem.
Direct USB-C also fails: points much more strongly towards the iPadOS update/display subsystem.
If the monitor only has HDMI/DP, an Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter would also make a useful control test.
