Hi all,
I'm not exactly a technophobe, but these computer thingys scare me...

I've got a Toshiba Portege M205 with 512mb RAM (2 lots of 256). I want to upgrade it to the maximum 2gb RAM as I do a lot of CAD stuff with music on at the same time etc.

Firstly, do I simply remove both lots of memory and replace them at the same time or do they have to be done, one first, then the other?

Secondly, what do I need to look out for when buying memory?

Any help appreciated :)

No idea really but it would probably be best to change to at the same time,

In the mean time try here so you can find out what you need...

Nah, just buy the right spec (in terms of PCxxxx). You can check the stickers on the existing RAM if its not in the book.

It shouldn't matter what order you replace them in but you don't need to do one, boot up then do the other if thats what you're asking. Just do both.
