Why doesn´t the normal virus programme detect the spyware and adware on your pc???

Virus checkers look for virus strings inside files, spyware checkers merely look for the incidence of specific files and registry entries from a database.

Would seem that there is space for an integrated solution though, I agree.

It would be so much easier if you would have some sort of combined system.

Would be fairly easy to create a vbScript or even a DOS batch file which kicks them off one after another.

Some of the all-in-one products such as ZoneAlarm give you firewall, anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-spyware in on package.

Although I still run Ad-Aware regularly as well.
