As per title anyone any idea why ebay won't open up on my new wireless laptop? I seem to be able to access all other sites but not ebay? (checked on my desktop & can access fine from there so not a website issue)

Thanks
Howard.

Prolly MTU settings on the lappy. Google for Dr.TCP and set the wireless adapter to 1500 to start with.

Edit - You got your cookie security settings too high perchance?

What equipment do you have?.

I'm wondering if it is a closed port like HTTPS (443) or something of that nature.

Where does it fail, can you get to the home page?, or is it logging in?.

I have a new Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop which only arrived last week as for settings I am clueless with computers so if you have idea's you will need to explain fully.
As for ebay it starts to download the page then stops or takes an eternity for the status bar at the bottom to move. I can ususally see the top line of the ebay home page.

Thanks
Howard.

Because of your computer knowledge I would recommend downloading FireFox and installing it (It takes less than 5 minutes as it is very small).

This will hopefully rule out a possible browser issue (Browsers = Internet Explorer, FireFox ect).

If it doesn't work then I would look at Firewall, network etc.

Do you know what if any firewall the laptop has on it?.
