Hi All,

I have an Advent laptop that has developed a problem when trying to charge it up. The port that you plug the charging socket into has become lose and when I try to charge the laptop it either does not charge at all or charges and the socket starts to burn and over heat, clearly it's shorting out.

Is there anywhere that I can get it repaired?, I've taken out the circuit board so I could just send that away for repair or can I buy a new one online?

Cheers

John

there are lots of places that do this do a google search for laptop motherboard repairs midlands and see what comes up

it may be cheaper to get a replacement motherboard

I've got the offending PCB out of the laptop and I'm going to go to Maplin tomorrow and see if I can buy a new port, then I hope that I can solder the new one on and then Robert's your fathers brother (I hope!)

Cheers
