Morning folks,

I'm tinkering around trying to get one of our apps to work correctly in a citrix environment..

The app I'm playing with is a terminal emulator and is "port sensitive"..

so, if a session is started on port 2048, the next session that is opened hop up to port 2049 and be given a different session number.

Now, another of our apps is session number sensitive, therefore I want to force users to connect on a specific port based on their username.

I can do this in a windows environment by calling the environment variable %username% when launching the app.

What I need to know is whether the same variable exists when logging onto a Citrix terminal server...

Any help is gratefully received!!

cheers,

slinky

Environment variables are the same in Citrix AFAIK. Only one that's a bit odd is computername or hostname, as it'll be the same for all users.

Cheers chap,

I'll continue my googling to see if I can find any evidence to the contrary, but all being well, my plan should work!

I've used the %username% variable in Citrix before, to automate Outlook profile creation, so that one definately works.
