Hi people...

Does anyone know of any freeware that will allow me to edit a DVD?

I was filmed straight onto DVD doing a Sky Dive/Learning to fly thingy (technical!!) in Milton Keynes and the DVD has people on that I want to edit out.

So want to go from DVD -> .mpg -> edit -> Back to DVD

Cheers

To do that, you will need to pay for the software. I could be wrong, but I know of nothing free that will allow you to do what you want.

ALSO - DVD camcorders are virtually useless if you intend to edit from the DVD. Because you have to (1)Decompress a compressed file (DVD is MPEG2) (2)Edit the movie and then (3)Recompress back to DVD.

When you do that you will have postproduction artifacts that will be extremely difficult to avoid...

You could play the DVD and cature the video/audio an an avi file using something like premiere (or even Windoze Movie Maker at a push) and a decent quality capture card.

Then perform the edit, and author a DVD with the finished article.
