Home network problems

I have moved a selection of files (music/photos etc) over onto an unused desktop pc to act as a fileserver/backup system. Now, if I remote desktop into it (it has no monitor attached) I can see all the files are there happily sitting in My Docs, however when I go in from my laptop via the network neighbourhood thingamy I am only seeing a selection with some missing. I have tried rebooting both, refreshing screens etc but still seems some files show and others don't. Could understand it more if I was not seeing any files but the fact that I get a random selection is stumping me. Network is fully wireless through Belkin Router.

Anyone ideas would be greatfully received.
