Hi, I have registered a domain name (call it example.co.uk for arguments sake). The host says the domain status is ready, but when I point a browser at it, http://example.co.uk displays my index.html file fine, but www.example.co.uk says page not found. Any ideas? Thanks.

it doesn't have an A record or CNAME entry for the host www at the domain example.co.uk

remember www is just a hostname within domain, you could host your website on webserver.example.co.uk giving a url of http://webserver.example.co.uk

www.dnstuff.com or www.dnsreport.com are helpful for dns problems

the above sounds about right, could also potentially be DNS / Web cacheing (NTL are bad for this!)

if you let us know the domain in question, we can give an authorative answer.

Thanks both - seems to have resolved itself now. dnsstuff.com is a great site though!
