Portable DVD Players

Oh look - another which one would you buy thread.


But in my defence, I've done a bit of googling and surfing and come up with the following possibles:

Philips PET710
Toshiba SDP1600

All we want is to play DVD's and show some photos. Decent battery life would be nice. Good screen and audio would be higher on the list - oh, and reasonably robust.

£130ish seems the sort of street price for these little gems. so I reckon they've come down to the "pretty good value" bracket.

Any thoughts?

Anything obvious I should watch out for or avoid (like multi-region compatible, that's about as far as my technical know-how goes at the moment!!)?

My choice would be the Shinco SDP-1720A, available for £130 from www.allcam.biz/products/sdp-1720.html

Multiregion out of the box, plays DivX, plus has metal casing rather than plastic.
