Replacement ink cartridge suppliers - recommendations?

I bought an Epson RX620 scanner/copier/printer a month or so back - very pleased with it so far, but it seems to get through ink at a rate of knots!

Before too much longer, I'm going to need to replace the ink cartridges. A quick Google looking for suppliers throws up a bewildering array of places offering refills and replacements. Does anyone have any first-hand recommendations?

Also, does anyone have any experience of replacing the Epson OEM cartridges with cheaper non-OEM ones? Obviously, Epson recommend only using genuine ink (well, they would, wouldn't they?!) but is it possible to get the same print quality with cheaper third party inks?

There was something on TV in the last week or so where they compared genuine Epson ink with two cheaper alternatives, and they reckoned that the cheaper ones provided just as good quality, but faded much faster.

I guess it depends what you're printing - if you're running off a hundred flyers that will mostly be in the bin in a week's time, then the cheap ones are fine, but if you're making a calendar from the BTaP photos (we're all doing that, aren't we?) then you might be better investing in the real ones.
