How can I print to a network printer from a DOS program running on XP ? Seem to remember that somehow you can redirect LPT1 to the default printer but I can’t work out how. Any ideas please

Sorry I am being a bit simple here. I guess the Net use instruction is written using the “Run” prompt from the start menu. The printer is a network printer connected by a cable to a Wireless router so doesn’t have a computer name. I know the printer name taken form the printer properties and have tried Net use LPT1:\ Printername and Net use LPT1:\(name of the wireless network router)printer name but no luck.

Not absolutely certain that I have the network name correct, how do I check that ?

Separate problem on the same network ; A old Win 98 unit with an Ethernet card will access the internet via the router so is talking to the local network but can not see the network printer.
