Dont use GRC

Despite all the hype its crap.

Google for Steve Gibson and you'll find out why.

Some proper security experts (contributors to the OWASP project) ripped his so called Shields Up to bits packet by packet and found out what it was doing was allowing him to hype his own abilities as a technician and little else.

Also, when sheilds up says you are safe, you potentially arent.

Avoid.

I've got to say, I've always used Gibson in the past & found it to be extremely good & accurate, nice that it doesn't actually install anything on the PC you're testing. I'm sure you're aware that there was a massive campaign to discredit Gibson after he so publicly attacked Microsoft over XP

I thought I'd check out the Symantec interestingly it said.......

Analysis:
WARNING! No known virus protection software found. This means your computer and data are vulnerable to virus attacks. Virus attacks can have serious consequences, including system damage and data loss.

A little odd as we're running an enterprise version of McAfee / EPolicy which enforces AV every 5 mins - looks like Symantec are just touting for business

Maybe you’re after something online, complete and easy to use but I do have a number of tools to "evaluate" your firewall. I could email them if you want (drop me an email)?

Oh, people have been discrediting Gibson for a long time before that. The guy's a self-publicising, scaremongering windbag.
