internet/windows media player help

We've just moved house, and something strange has happened to the PC, before we moved, if I clicked on a movie, it would automatically open up windows media player, download and play.
Now all it does is open an internet explorer window, and tries to open the file using quicktime.
any ideas what's happened?

Sounds like the files are now associated with a different programme. Find a video file you have on the hard drive and right click on it.
Then click Open With
Select the programme you wish to use and check the box to say that you always want to use this programme.
