Horrendous Crash!

Need a bit of help..

My work Pc has just crashed and says that I have a missing or corupted file :-
windows\system32\config\system

It says that I can attempt to repair the file with the CD and to press "r" at the first screen, trouble is that it does not halt on any screens and I cannot get it to boot up from the cd without intervention?

How do I initiate repair from the cd?

You need to set the PC's BIOS to boot from CD before HDD, how you do that depends on what kind of PC you've got..

The PC needs to be set up to boot from CD. On most systems, the boot order is defined in the BIOS settings. You should find instructions to enter the BIOS setup displayed briefly at the start of the boot sequence. Typically you have to press the appropriate key when prompted to enter BIOS setup.
