Another wireless question....
Discussion
I am getting ready to launch this lot out the window.....!
Bit of background.
One PC, Which has BT Voyager 205 plugged into it supplying the broadband. One samsung x20 laptop with wireless.
I bought a netgear wireless router. I cannot get it to connect using the BT adsl router modem, I read in the Netgear instructions I need to set the router modem to be in bridge mode which I have done, but still when I try to view the www.routerlogin.net page it says "page cannot be displayed". Where am I going wrong?
All help welcome!

sounds like you are connecting a router to a router? ..not generally a good idea unless you know what you are doing !
Which model of Netgear router have you got?
You should have just replaced the BT one with an all in one wireless modem router - like a Netgear DG834G/DG834GT/DG834PN etc and just have a one box solution.
If you cant see the routers login page then Im guessing you havnt got a valid IP address from the router - are you using a cable to connect or wireless?
where did you get the router from - you could return it and get an all in one box and save yourself a lot of hassle

ok - well start with making sure that the ethernet port on the BT box is connected to the WAN (Internet) port on the router. Is the green 'i' light on the Netgear box lit?
then plug in with a cat 5 cable to the Netgear box - do you have a valid network connection in the Windows system tray showing you are connected? can you open up a DOS window and type "ipconfig" you should have an IP address in the 192 range from the Netgear box
also - check your settings in Internet Explorer under tools/internet options/connections and make sure you are using a LAN rather than dial up

Bogie,
All the lights are on that should be on according to the leaflet.
ipconfig says this :-
Windows IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.4
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
It keeps on saying that "the page cannot be found" when I try to enter the router config page. Grrrrrr!

Actually work has had a load of hassle with BT modems etc. Just refused to work properly with VPN despite efforts of all the best boffs.
In the end we binned them and bought Netgear. On strength of that I bought a DG834GT and it worked in less than 5 clicks as they say. Setting up the security stuff was a bit more problematical but now know what I'm doing piece of cake.

If I've understood what you're doing, personally I wouldn't do it that way, I'd first unplug the netgear, press the reset button then put it to one side.
Then set the Voyager in bridge mode aka 'zipb' mode as per instructions here: http://corz.org/comms/hardware/router/router.tricks.
Then once that's working on your PC via the network cable (not usb) connect up the netgear, following all the instructions as if you were setting up as per a cable/NTL style setup. Power the voyager on, give it a minute then power the netgear on.
That should be job done. You can forget about the voyager then and just pretend you've only got the netgear. Should be easier to use. I think part of your current problem is that the Voyager's default range is 192.168.1 while the netgear's default IP is in the 192.168.0 range, so unless you reconfigure it first you won't be able to connect to it after you've got a 192.168.1 address from the Voyager.
Hope this helps
