Publishing magazine scans on the web
Discussion
Eight page article (colour) 25MB at 300dpi each A4 page (tiff) coverts into a 1.5MB PDF with good readability/quality
but I am concerned that people will be put off by the PDF format
Have tried scaling to a smaller size and jpegging but this seems to mess up the text
I am using PaintShopPro X
Any advice please ?

Some of that depends on what you're using it for. I'd say that if you want to show people what the article looked like, PDF is best, no quesion, and providing you don't try and get clever most people won't question PDF.
If your main aim is the info I'd try OCR on the text, and then put text and scanned images together in whatever you think your target would be most comfortable with.

Might be a good idea to check the copyright situation as well. I doubt anyone would have a problem but there is a difference between copy a few pages to share with mates and placing a copy in the public domain if the copyright holder might still be expecting revenues from the piece.
Just a thought.
