Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how I can set a custom signature for all the users on a SBS 2003 server, ideally it's going to be something simple with name, address, telephone etc.., but I can't see how I can do that without going to each user.

Is there a way you can use policies or scripts to do this?

Thanking you!

As far as I know the signatures are client based. You can use s script to set them up on the clients etc. OWA also has signatures but these are held separately

You can add boiler plate/disclaimer stuff at the server which needed a download dll from Microsoft on Exchange5.5 I beleive they built this in in 2000 and 2003 but haven't looked for it

I thought as much, any ideas as to how we could set up the scripts (i.e. decent tutorials or similar)? I'm aware of the MS one...

Can be done using GFi's Mail Essentials application which is free I think barring certain limitations...

Either that or if you have Network Asscoicates Groupshield (which I sincerely hope you have that or another mail gateway virus scanner) you can tag outgoing email with disclaimer.

This can be used well for outgoing email signatures - however they are text based...

There are a load of 3d party utilities which will do it for you (at pretty modest costs - certainly less than 200 quid). IIRC, most pick information out of the GAL so they can be dynamic whilst maintaining a company standard.

They work by attaching an event sink to outgoing SMTP messages. You can write an event sink yourself relatively simply. I did something similar a while ago to prove it was easy to do, but it was never used because we decided that paying for a supported product was by far the best way to go...

edited to add: there are loads of them, but as an example take a look at www.exclaimer.com/UK/ProductInformation.htm
