I would like to buy some software to copy DVDs. My research so far seems to keep bringing up the Nero package. Can anyone help with the following questions ('scuse my numptiness)....

- Does Nero allow you to copy protected DVDs?

- Does it give you the option of copying just the movie, and excluding the extras and bonus features if you prefer?

- Does anyone have any experience of downloading software such as those listed here... http://dvd-copy-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
For instance, the DVD Cloner III sounds like a good package?

- Is there anything else I should consider when looking at these packages?

Many thanks.

I use DVDShrink to copy DVD's to my HardDrive (Compresses them) then use Nero to copy them to DVD. Can't copy at 16x speed though only 8x speed but that could be the discs.

I use DVD Decrypter - works very well. (And it's free!)

Nero works like a charm, havent used it in a while but IIRC the "copy protection" check is a popup box that says "is this a copywrited DVD you are trying to copy?" with yes or no click boxes for the answer.

Rather secure

DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink, both free downloads; decrypter allows you to copy 'protected' DVD material and shrink will get it to fit onto a DVDR which would otherwise not hold more than 1 hour at full DVD quality, once 'shrunk' additional copies can be done more easily using Nero.

And DVD Shrink allows you to just copy the bits you want and get rid of the annoying adverts, polish subtitles etc.

Simple & effective.
