Hi

I made a schoolboy error earlier and overwrote an existing file that I needed. eg. Yesterday I saved a file called CV that took me 3 hours to write. Today, I then saved another file called CV, but with different content within it. When prompted I clicked yes to replace the original file (like an idiot) thinking I had saved the original file in a different directory.

I've called my outsource back up company, but they have not done a back up since 6/1!!! A great waste of the £6k I've paid them over the last 12 months.

Is there anyway of retrieving the original file???

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Jason

How much is 3 hours work worth to you?

You can get the data back but its an involved, see expensive, service.

Google for restorer2000 that should be able to find it... And if the file is smaller than 64K in size you might even be able to get away with the free demo version

Thanks Rob - I'll give it a go, although as I'd saved it as an RTF it's probably bigger than 64k

It's your computers way of saying, 64k is too big for a cv

Give me a quote by all means, but I'm rather disillusioned with trusting third parties to deliver!
