PS2 DVD capabilities?

[combover]

Is the PS2 a multi-region or region 1 DVD player? I want to order a DVD off amazon but don't know if my PS2 will play it or not.

The internal PS2 DVD player is whatever region the machine is (e.g. US, EU, etc). You can get software which modifies the region code of the software player so it can play all discs (DVDR's included).

Yers I've got that Region X, bought it from HMV a few years ago.

As standard the region is set (region 2 in europe etc) and it doesn't play backups or home produced wedding video dvds..

Depends on the DVDR brand used, the PS2 cannot differentiate between DVDR's and factory pressed DVD's.
