as above : As far as i know the only way to get into these is to buy a 3rd party application. Does anyone know of any quick and dirty ways to get at the information ??

Cheers

Don't think there is one. Seem to remember reading that word and excel protection is pretty hardcore these days. Even the 3rd party software may take a long long time to find the password.

piece of cake. I needed an excel one, 5 mins on google, 20 second download, and i've got a full and complete unlocking tool for excel.

Quick search through google will find you one (if you need an excel one, e-mail me - it's brilliant). oh, and the maximum it's ever taken to unlock is 1minute!

Just note - please be careful with any ot this type of software you download. You have no idea (most of the time) who wrote it and what it'll actually do.

It may do what it says. It may insall a worm or contain a trojan (hidden malicious software). Software to bypass security can be safe but this kind of thing attracts the worst elements too.

Be sure of who provides the tool and always run a virus checker before running it.

Also a good idea to run something like Ad-Aware that will highlight and remove anything that's installed itself without your knowledge...
