I have a HP2210 with tom tom 5 installed. I have just ordered & received a new 1gb SD card so i don't need to keep swapping over sd cards when adding extra maps.
I have copied all data across from old sd card to new one (via pc)but some of the points of interest will now not show up on tom tom despite them being on the new card (checked on pc via active sync)
I have tried adding these again but they still do not show up?
Tom Tom cust services have recommended I check that SD card is formatted first (Although if it wasn't I don't understand why most of other POI's & map work fine?)
Is it possible to format the sd card via my pc & ipac cradle? if so how?
Also does anyone have any other idea's what could be causing this.

I have also tried to add a new POI to see what happened & this doesn't show up either despite it being on the card?

Sorry for long post but hope someone can help as i'm now back to using old 256mb card again.

Thanks
Howard.

Have you put the POI's into the correct folder?

Are the POI's only showing up on certain maps?

OK, you can format the card by viewing it as a "drive" on my computer - it should show as a mobile device, then open that, then it's usually something such as "storage card" - IIRC, you can right click & format from there.

Before you do:

Have you told TomTom to display the relevant POI's? and also asuming you have, are they saved in the folder that TomTom is looking for them in?

I'd wander over to the pocketgps.co.uk forums, and have a search there before doing anything drastic like a format of the card.

Hope that helps

what software are you using to download the original POI's? I use POIedit which automatically downloads new copies (pocketgps camera locations) when I sync my PDA to the PC.

If you copied the files from your PDA to the PC via activesync, it may have wrongly converted the files. I've tended to use a normal card reader to extract POI and maps directly from the SD card as it's quicker and save it as a backup.

Any map extracted this way can be put back directly onto the SD card without having to re-install it from the DVD or activesync.
