Anyone got any thoughts on the following?

I've got a Canon D660U flatbed scanner that until recently has worked fine either when scanning from the platen or via the film adapter unit (FAU). However, it has now decided that it will only scan in B&W (ie me deliberately selecting B&W scan) but throws an error in colour. This happens whether scanning via Canon software or using the twain driver via something like Acrobat. If scanning from the platen an error occurs straight away, if via the FAU then either the error will occur or I'll get only half a picture and it will be green rather than proper colour.

I'm assuming it's a twain driver conflict issue caused by the installation of new twain drivers for my Canon 20D camera and a Minolta 5400 slide/film scanner (both of these work fine). I've reinstalled the Canon scanner software and updates but still get the problem.

Any ideas other than complete deinstall and reinstall again?
