I have two external SATA drives, one is USB only and the other is USB or via a normal SATA cable that has a port added on the rear of the PC.

Problem is when I plug them in to the PC they come up as a detected drive and appear to install (get the message ready to use) but they do not show up in My Computer and are inaccessible?

How do I get the drives to be seen?

Make sure that your system is not trying to assign them a drive letter already in use.

Additionally, make sure that you have an active partition on the drives if they are new. ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS>COMPUTER MANAGEMENT>DISK MANAGEMENT

are they formatted partitioned? got linux partitions already on?

Are they in the device manager? do they appear to be working fine i.e. no yellow triangles?

If you go to storage manager do they show up?

Thanks Both
Ernest - Bang on thanks, Used Disk Manager and that allowed me to "import foreign drive" which then showed up immediately.

Cheers
