Do you have a soundcard already ?

You could get a minijack/phono converter for your phono lead (make sure its stereo) ? Only a few quid ?

Or you could do what i used to do and get a 2m minijack > phono audio lead and run it straight into the back of the amp - worked a treat

Its not for me the person that wants to do it has high end Hi Fi equipment and is planning to use the PC in the front room attached to the new LCD TV but wants to run it through the hi fi system and wants to do it properly.

I suggested the converter but he didnt like the idea wanted proper phono outputs.

Go for the Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Elite Pro. Awesome card....sounds fantastic and quality is superb. Approx £250

Also, go for a Terratec Aureon 7.1 Universe. About €170.
