we have these phones which are only a week old, and they buzz like crazy when you are on a call, sounds like static. its not a problem with the line, and i have rang the phone from my mobile and it sounds fine on the mobile.

it also goes away completely sometimes, which is really weird.

we have 4 handsets.

i rang the help line, but some indian woman, after testing the line, simply told me to replace the phones, even though i told her and knew that there was nothing wrong with the lines. i dont see the point of a helpline if they simply replace the phones!!!

can anybody help? please!

thanks very much

Do you have any other radio transmission kit near the base station ? I know that if I put any of the following near my Philips DECT base station I get annoying buzzing:

Wireless transmitter for my keyboard and mouse - has to be at least 2 ft away
Mobile Phone - only if within 1 ft
Speaker (small one part of my surround sound setup)needs to be about 6 inches away
wireless network access point - has to be about 2ft away

i dont think that there is, one is in the kitchen, the other in a bedroom, and then 2 in our living room. i've been talking on them before and they have been fine, but a lot of the time they are so fuzzy you can only just hear the person on the other end!

we took the phones back and got some more, and they are buzzing as well, stupid helpline is no good, the guy didnt have a clue what to do, it seems like they can check the telephone line, and thats all!

we got some philips phones and they feel like a more quality product, but they are still hissing like hell. i walked down to the bottom of the garden with one and it was still doing it, i just can't work out why all these phones have been buzzing/hissing

anybody have any ideas?

thanks

can you hear it just when you are talking, not the other person?
I had this on a set of dect phones turned out to be microphone inducing into the earpiece. Try turning down volume of conversation, also some sets you can turn down mic sensitivity.
May be worth a try
