Websites and Video clips?

[edtvr]

I am looking for help with my company website.
Does anyone know how to put links onto websites to show video clips, we have a large historical video libary of past projects and are currently in the process of updating our website.
I wondered how difficult it would be to jazz it up a bit.
Would I need any special software?
What format do the video clips need to be in?
Is there a limit on size?
Where would they need to be stored?
Anything else that might be important?

any help would be greatly appreciated

This should probably go in the computer forum.

But it doesn't sound like you know much about what your doing so you are likely to run into trouble.

You will need a server to store the video clips and depending how popular they are you might need a lot of bandwidth.

Your other decision would probably be whether to stream them or not.

Format can be a nightmare as there are loads of different types and codecs, stick with something simple like Mpeg1 and you'll probably be ok, unless file size is an issue.

Many questions

You would need some reasonable software to improve a website, otherwise you would have to get someone to do it for you.. and as for video, you need to store (host) them yourself on a server... which as mentioned above you will need enough bandwidth (the maximum amount of files people can download until you get cut off) too, which in my experience has cost me shedloads .

Any more advice/info gimme an email
Dave.

What sort of size company are you? looking for a cheap quick solution or for a delivery platform? My company looks after images and videos for QVC, Home Shopping Network, Sears and many others... We host videos for our customers, streaming them as flash movies.
