I have an annoying habit of seeing pictures I like on the Interweb, and right clicking as background...

Why is it annoying? Because I don't save them! I want to keep my current background picture, but in the settings it's stored as 'desktop background' and doesn't give a file location. Does anyone know what the default file name is for this?

Thanks

If using IE on a multiple login pc it will be in your "c: documents and settings: username application data microsoft internet explorer" probably saved as something imaginative like "internet explorer wallpaper.bmp"

If not just search for "internet explorer wallpaper.bmp"

Thanks - it's actually Firefox that I use and I found Firefox Desktop.bmp, which was the previous background to this one!

Went through my MSN history and found the right link to the picture I like... and the website no longer exists

A tip, then, would be to right click and use "Save image as..." instead.
Then, tell it to save in "My DocumentsMy Prictures".
Next, right-click on the desktop, select properties and the picture you just saved will be in the list of available backgrounds.

Repeat for wheichever other pictures you like and they'll all be in the list so you can swap and change as you like.

Trying to think of a nice way to say thank you without screaming abuse....
