...and various other invalid characters in terms of a bulk data load via Perl scripts into a Postgres SQL database. Basically, a client wants to load data from a spreadsheet (e.g. a list of events or jobs) via a Perl script into a database. The script has a wobbly at certain invalid characters within the data - such as non-breaking spaces.
Anyone know of any tools to clean up Excel data in this way? Not really a search / replace as I don't want to have to repeat the process for each potential invalid character. Could perhaps export to CSV then reimport but a tad long-winded.
