Hi ,
Does anyone know of a service where I can get a couple of PIC chips programmed.
I only need two done and have the source code.
The chips are standard common and cheap £1.00 / 50p
Either a shop in London or possibly a mail order service ?

Thanks

If its a 16F84,

If not search the net, quite easy to come by, build your own and you have one then for whenever you need it.

If you don't want to build your own then Maplin have PIC programmer for £25. A variety are available on Ebay for £12 or so. I know you have the source code, but have you actually compiled it to binary target code yet?

I can do it. What PIC exactly is it, and have you compiled the code yet?

Hi Sorry for the delay ,

the PICs in qustion are 12C672 12F675.

I should be able to supply the hex file.

What are the costs involved ?

OK... 12F675 is no problem. For small quantities - you seem to be only wanting one or two done, am I right? - £5 per chip, plus postage at whatever the Post Office charge for the delivery service you require (recorded, special, registered or what-have-you).

12C672 is an OTP chip, not Flash as in the subject header. I don't do those in small quantities. Also it's obsolete and Microchip's website recommends that you use the 12F683 instead in new designs. Programming charge for the 12F683 would be the same (as it would be for any Flash PIC).

If you want me to supply the chips as well as programming them, that will be Farnell's current price plus 10%.
