I'm on the look out for a new 19" monitor,max £300,preferably under £250.

Are there any you have bought or seen in comparison with others that are particularly good ? , not fussy about usb ports or speakers etc etc, just good image quality, for very occasional games and a lot of PH reading .

cheers.

Serously rate my Viewsonic VX912 - about £230 I think I paid (ahem I say paid - I mean work paid for)...

Very nice screen and looks nice on the desk.

Check out www.ebuyer.co.uk they have a good selection of cheap TFT's and most of them have reviews from customers

The 21" Dell 2001FP is a stunning bit of kit and seems to be going for £275-£300 on eBay (on Buy It Now) at the moment.

I have the 24" Dell monitor and it is outstanding. I can't imagine the smaller versions don't represent excellent value for money.

I've got a dell 2005fpw and it's a super monitor, same internals as the apple cinema displays, but without the hefty pricetag...

Good 19" flat panel=NEC 1970GX or even the newer GX2. NEC have some new technology that really smooths the screen out and the colour is very good. About $400 US, so it should be within your budget...

Hi Tony

We have 3 of the 24" Dell monitors he and they have been, without exception, fantastic. Obviously others have had problems, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. They also have a 30" model now - tempted?!

Cheers.

I had the Dell 24" at work for a few weeks. I have to say I found the biggest problem was the 'heat' the screen gave off - felt like I was having a tanning session! Anyone else found this? Otherwise, I would have bought one at a special discount they were offering employees...

Slightly off topic (sorry!) but I assume any of these 24" Dells going for £2-300 on eBay are scams?
