Having lost my old Nokia 6310 during our recent house move.. and not having a backup of all the numbers on my SIM card, I dont even want to lose them all again ! I've now got a work mob that I'm slowly updating; is there a freeware / shareware software that'll let me make a copy of the numbers using bluetooth onto my laptop?

You should be able to integrate with Outlook using something like Oxygen.

If its a Nokia, they have sync software that will merge with Outlook etc, available on the web for free.

Edt, are you using the data cable or Bluetooth to connect?

When using the cable with my N70 I sometimes have to turn my phone off while leaving it plugged into the usb then turn it back on again, this has worked a few times for me.

Phone is a NOkia 6021.. Blurtooth On.. Phone visibility 'show all'

Laptops got the bluetooth switch to on (theres a little switch on the front edge) and it's enabled it reckons.

Download Nokia PC Suite 6.70.22 from the Nokia site.

Was hoping going to be a breeze !

hey ho

I know its a silly question but in the PC suite have you selected usb as you connection type so it will see your bluetooth connection?

Also might need to add your laptop as a bluetooth device on your phone?

Here's the steps I took (with Nokia 3230, but should be the same).....

1 - Pair Phone with laptop. Set laptop as an authorised device on the phone (will stop you being asked for a PIN every time you connect)

2 - Open PC Suite from the start menu.

3 - Click on the "Get Connected" button at the bottom of the PC Suite screen.

4 - Select "Bluetooth", click next. Select the bluetooth stack you're using (there may be a couple, try one and if you get no joy try the other).

5 - It'll now search for any devices in range. Select yours once it appears.

6 - Click finish.

You should then be able to use the rest of the PC Suite tools.

HTH,
Jim.

May sound silly, make sure Bluetooth is On on both devices and no other software is 'hijacking' the port.

Are you on Orange, On my phone you can back them all up other the network, that way you can instantly download them to any other phone that you wish, It's called orange backup.
Or you could just buy one of those little key ring things they sell for a couple of pounds in petrol stations and put your sim in there!
There are a few problems with Bluetooth and Nokia PC suite, My computer wont allow it, It's a PC suite problem rather than a PC problem.
There are other programs around like Oxygen and LogoManager

it doesnt seem to, though the laptop reckons it's enabled. No dongle.. integral to this FJ Seimens S series (S7010D) it's turn on/off by flicking a switch near the mouse pad. The phone sees my Nokia headset OK, so suppose is the laptop being no use
