is the only way of getting eg french news and german news by having a big dish and getting astra broadcasts?

80cm dish and realignment to the right satellite unless anyone knows different (latest technology etc...)

edited to add - and contacting the channels you want to find out how to have them, subscriptions or even another decoder.

Ahh for the good ole days of D2MAC Decoders, hacked cards and Filmnet, TV1000 and their extraordinary array of late night entertainment

With a suitable digital reciever & 80cm dish (motorised if you like) there should still be a fair bit of free stuff on Astra, Eutelsat etc...

MotorsTV is FTA on 1 satellite if i remember correctly.
