Anyone got one of these? Thinking of updating my old mp3 player, this seems to fit the bill . I make do with 128mb at the moment so 1Gb should be more than enough storage capacity.

FWIW, I've had my Creative Zen 20Gb just over a week so far, and I'm chuffed to bits with it. Holds my entire (non-classical) CD collection, seems robust enough, easy to work, once I'd got the hang of the slidey thing (*). The PC software's crap, although it worked well enough to copy my already-ripped CD collection (took about 5 hours for 17Gb). (Oh, and it ripped Goldfrapp's "Supernature" when CDex just hung.) You can get some better software from www.redchairsoftware.com/notmad/ which makes Creative players work the way they should - just appear as another disk drive.

(* Because it's so sensitive, your initial response is to press more lightly, which is the exact opposite of what's required - set the sensitivity to low and slide your finger *firmly* down the control.)

And I've just ordered the wired remote, so I don't have to keep taking it out of my pocket to adjust the volume.

Mr.Z. says 9/10.
