I use Plus net as the work ISP.

They have been really good to date, but recently I have noticed that my net connection seems to be dropping out intermitently & momentarily.

ie the connection drops, and you then have to refresh the page to get it to work.

Is it us, or is there a problem with PlusNet?

My father in law who is using a Plus Net domestic package (at my recommendation) is suffering intermittent drops in connection, but he has to tell his router to reconnect manually. (We are both using the same router, a BT 2110 that was supplied from PlusNet)

All help & advice greatfully rec'd.

Been happening to me too. They had a major technical hitch a week or two back - access was impossible for most of the day. Things seem to be getting better right now.

Thanks Julian.

The major hitch caused us huge grief (we are an online car retailer, who couldn't get online on that day!!!)

Relieved it's not just me then...

I'll contact Plus Net then.

Cheers

Is the connection actually dropping? Are the lights on your router going out?
Are you useinf Firefox 1.5.0.1?

Your problem doesn't sound as severe as the others mentioned here.

No - IE 6

It's not just me, my Father in law is experiencing the same. (But he has to manually tell his router to connect to the netwok again, mine seems to reconnect automatically)

It's bloody frustrating, as every time the plus net connection drops out, my 3G card decides that its needed so the connection box pops up. (Dial whenever a network connection is not present)

I'm gradually losing my patience with this.

No probs myself but just got this:

An email said:

Overview of network issues

On behalf of the management team at PlusNet, I would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused due to problems experienced on our broadband network last week.

During last weekend and again later in the week, we saw intermittent issues with one of our network suppliers. This may have caused difficulties in accessing some Internet sites. Additionally, we experienced a major network failure on the morning of Tuesday 7th March. This caused loss of connectivity for customers over several hours and resulted in very high call volumes to our customer service centre, resulting in some customers being unable to make contact with us.

Please accept our apologies and be assured that our team is working tirelessly to protect your customer experience. Through careful planning and investments in our network, we know that we can quickly improve on the problems experienced this week and ensure that they do not occur again. In the meantime, we have included below further information about what went wrong last week, how we fixed it and what we're doing to minimise the chances of future related issues.

Yours sincerely,

Carol Axe
