Help!!!! Tevion TV card....

...bought this from Aldi because it was suspiciously cheap. Anyway, I installed it but the display is now in 4 colours and really low res!?! It says theres not enough resources, try the troubleshooter. I can't understand what the problem is...its got an Nvidia Geforce 6800GT and ought to be up to spec. Help.....

Is this playback through Windows Media player?

I had this once when I uninstalled a DVD player and installed another, it was linked to a windows media player codec problem following the uninstall. I solved it by re-installing all the media player codecs from here

I only had to reinstall the full package at the bottom the - Codec Installation Package for Windows Media Player 6.4 - and it worked.

If it's anything else I have no idea at the moment, I'm just thinking the system you bought might need a few updates

What happens is that all is fine. I switch off, stick the TV card in, reboot. All is no longer fine. Now we have what looks like safe-mode, 800x600 res 4 colours. Install drivers. Reboot. No change. Switch off, rip TV card out, reboot and all is again fine.

For the record my system is running XP with 256mb Geforce graphics, 1gb ram, 500gb HDD space etc

Try it in a different slot, and try installing the latest Nvidia drivers (from www.nvidia.com) with the TV card in place.
