Oracle Objects Buff for homework help

Hi,
Just before i pull out my last bit of hair i would like to as you guys for help. I am trying to insert a subtype into a table and Oracle errors are useless. Below is the insert statement and the error.
INSERT INTO c_tab VALUES (s_typ(66, 'Alan B', (SELECT REF(ad) FROM address ad WHERE pcde = 'ST6 8RT'), '8798777', '462'), '5', NULL);
c_tab is the table name
s_type is the name of the type.
The error is ORA-00917: missing comma but i cannot see where. Or if anyone know where there is a decent guide on inserting into subtypes it would be very much appreciated.
