MS Outlook Help..........eek

Hi guys,

Really pooping myself at the mo!

I have 300-400 of my contacts for work in MS Outlook and have it synced with my SPV phone. I have all the contacts allocated various catagories of which there are about 15 all representing different sale lines which each contact buys from me. (helps me remember who buys what)


A few weeks ago, and for the first time in a year of using it, I deleted one of the catagories from the master list as I no longer sell that catagory.


Now I have just noticed, since re-syncing with my phone last night, that all of the contacts who had the now deleted catagory ticked, have enterely vanished!!

I have tried re-inputting the catagory but to no avail!


Really worried that I have fully lost all the details of about 50 customers!

Can't understand why they all vanished when they all had at least 3-6 other catagories ticked aswell.



Any help would be wonderful.

From my experience, if you mark a catagory to be deleted then all contact in there are marked to be deleted, irrispectively if they are link to other catagories.....

I think the best option would be to either find them in a back you created, if you made one, failing that are they stored on a sim Card or removable memory.

If it is removable memory you can get them recovered using so undelete software..

I have just popped open a bottle of bubbly as I found them all in the deleted items bit of outlook.

No idea why they all got deleted as they do not all link to the catagory I axed!

Right, now to work out how to back up an outlook contacts list!
