Media streamers
Discussion
Anybody used one of these, to stream pics, music, movies and more from your PC to your tv and hi-fi?
Any thoughts on them? I'm interested in a D-Link DSM-320

Hi Heebeegeetee,
I use a Philips SL300i, wireless, 99% of the time for music, also for the occasional photo. Movies is difficult over 54g wifi; apparently some highly-compressed DIVX stuff works but I can't be bothered to convert any DVDs. I did put most of my (not so large) CD collection on the server, and run Twonkyvision mediaserver to "serve" the streamer; I also use Cidero from my laptop to enter playlists from the couch on the livingroom.
In short, wireless it works a treat for music, OK for photos, hardly for movies. If you intend to wire up your media streamer probably movies won't be a problem as well.
Does this help?
