system restore ME ? help !

Got a problem with a pc running windows ME it gets so far through boot sequence, then freezes with a flashing white cursor on a black screen, im sure you can access restore by pushing a button during boot but cant remember what button, any idea which button or any other help available appreciated.

F8, choose safe mode, should be able to restore from there if it works. Worth running a scandisk in safe mode too.

The best thing you can do if you manage to restore it is ditch ME. It's a total abomination that should never have made it to market. Buy an XP upgrade and remove 90% of your PC troubles.

(If it wont boot into safe mode try booting from the ME cd and see if theres a recover the installation option).
